Septic Tide

Area: 20-ft.-radius spread

Spell Resistance: Yes

Septic Tide causes each living creature in the effected area to become Shaken unless it succeeds on a Will save. Characters who are shaken take a –2 penalty on attack rolls, saving throws, skill checks, and ability checks. The spell also deals 1 point of damage (Ref save negates) per level of spell caster for each round spent within the spread. Any living being that is injured by the spell must succeed on a fort save or contract Filth fever which strikes immediately (no incubation period) causing 1d3 Dex and 1d3 Con ability damage. Additionally, if the subject fails the save, they will become Engulfed. on a success, they are pushed back or aside (target’s choice) as the Septic Tide spreads and do not suffer further damage. Engulfed creatures are subject to the spells effect and are considered to be trapped within its spread and suffer more damage each round they do not escape.
